gogolnonstop2.jpgFrom New York City's sensational Russo-disco scene to a non-stop touring marathon with his band Gogol Bordello, Eugene Hütz takes us deep into his artistic life and influences. The story unfolds over five years, beginning in 2001, and follows Eugene and Gogol Bordello's progress from underground legend to international phenomenon. Through music, the film delivers messages of social and political commentary, and captures Gogol Bordello in the act of performing to go beyond music, beyond the political, opening hearts and ears to an artistic revolution in a globalized era.

gates.jpgIn 1979, artists Christo and Jeanne-Claude proposed one of the largest public art installations in history: a “golden river” of 7,503 fabric-paneled gates in Central Park. Antonio Ferrera and Albert Maysles’  film chronicles the artists’ twenty-six year commitment to transform the winter darkness of the iconic park into a garden of light and color. Weaving together archival footage of the artists’ early meetings and public hearings to promote the project with on-site conversations with visitors to the installation, the film ultimately poses the question: What is art?

International broadcast and DVD rights available. 98 minutes. Copyright 2007. Maysles Films, Inc. For more information regarding International sales or screening, please contact Elizabeth Sheldon. To learn more, click here.

passionposter2.jpgThis is the story of one simple invention: the vibrator. Passion and Power examines the relationship between the vibrator and the female orgasm. Historian Rachel Maines uncovers that under the guise of a medical treatment, Victorian doctors once used vibrators to relieve women of symptoms of hysteria by masturbating them to orgasm. This film explores the complex social biases that emphasize the male orgasm over the female, and what implications this obsession has on society and relationships.
